Exclusive YAMAHA Custom Yard Built

We were in for a surprise when we were offered entry into the 'Yard Built' competition by YAMAHA Europe in early 2013.

Together with the Danish design team of the 'Wrenchmonkees', we were to redesign the new SR400 to support its market launch. The result was the 'GibbonSlap'. This concept bike was presented to the public at the Milan Motor Show in November 2013.

Matt, black and reduced to the bare essentials - a pure motorbike in the literal sense of the word. Instead of screwing on all sorts of things, the Wrenchmonkees chose the opposite direction and unscrewed as much as possible.

The GibbonSlap wants to be a daily companion, equally suitable for the way to work, to the café or to the quarry pond. Inconspicuous, but not unremarkable, and at the same time as practical as possible and comprehensible and affordable for everyone.
