12V conversion: Which one is right for me?
There are various options available for conversion to 12V. These differ in the type of conversion and ultimately also in the price. The main question here should be what purpose the conversion should serve.
PlugIn regulator item no. 50544:
An uncomplicated 'plug-and-play' conversion that requires no in-depth technical knowledge. Here, the standard regulator and rectifier are replaced with the KEDO PlugIn regulator, furthermore, all lamps, battery, horn and the flasher relay must be replaced with 12V versions (see item No.
50550/
50551). For a better light output of the headlight, the original headlight insert with BA20D bulb can be exchanged for a modern headlight insert with H4 bulb. The classic look is retained thanks to the embossed genuine glass. Headlight and tail light continue to be operated with AC voltage, which is not a problem as long as no LED bulbs are to be used. The ignition system is not changed by the conversion, the original contact ignition remains. Important: the output of the alternator does not change! The electrical resistance (in cables and especially the contact points) has less effect at 12V than at 6V. We recommend using the dry pre-charged Yuasa battery. If you do not have access to battery acid, please choose the Add-On Kit item
50551-S with SLA battery. Inexpensive and hassle-free conversion.
